All about the cottage

Sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms

LOUNGE

LOUNGE

The double aspect lounge has a wealth of period charm and character, from its stunning beamed ceiling to its large flagstone floor. It is a room for relaxing, as well as entertaining. Three big double sofas are delightfully comfy and the ideal place for enjoying a glass of wine, reading a book or watching the TV, which comes with a Blu-Ray DVD player.

At the heart of the living room is the magnificent fireplace that adds a wonderfully nostalgic atmosphere to the lounge and is great for chilly winter evenings and over the festive season.

DINING ROOM

DINING ROOM

The dining room entrance was once where the Post Office customers stood to send parcels, pay for stamps and share good old-fashioned village gossip. Today, the dining room is an elegant and sophisticated area for enjoying elegant dinner parties or relaxed family meals. A classic wood table easily seats up to six and is perfect for all occasions; a high chair can also be provided if required.

The dining room is packed full of original features that add a wonderful magical and memorable touch. As well as the beamed ceiling there are plaster mouldings, a pretty Victorian fireplace and a gorgeous window seat that looks out over the village.

KITCHEN

KITCHEN

Overlooking the pretty courtyard terrace is the traditional country kitchen that has a lovely modern and contemporary feel. In keeping with the cottage's character, the kitchen has plenty of charisma, including a beautiful pine and glass display unit, original exposed beams, and quaint nooks and crannies that have been developed into a useful pantry and a book shelf. The kitchen also has a clean, bright and elegant look that is encompassed by its pastel yellow cupboards with modern chrome handles.

The kitchen at the Old Post Office is extremely well equipped. Appliances fitted in the kitchen include a stunning range cooker with gas hob, a fridge, a dishwasher and a microwave. There is also a very good range of pots and pans, cutlery and crockery.

A separate utility area located off the kitchen houses the washing machine, tumble dryer and separate freezer. This area is also great for additional storage space.

Neatly set to one side of the kitchen is a relaxed dining area perfect for breakfast. The period wood table, along with a pew and five charming European chairs help give the kitchen added personality.

BATHROOM

BATHROOM

The family bathroom is situated on the ground floor at the bottom of the stairs. This beautifully bright and airy bathroom is tastefully decorated in a pale shade of blue that wonderfully complements the flag stone floors and tiled ocean mural above the bath. The seaside theme continues with a fun and quirky wave and dolphin border.

The bathroom is equipped to an extremely high standard with an elegant white suite, including a gorgeous roll top bath, a wash-hand basin, a loo with self-closing lid and a separate free standing curved shower.

A handy heated towel rail is ideal for keeping towels warm and fluffy when staying in the cottage.

MASTER BEDROOM

MASTER BEDROOM

The Master Bedroom offers a glimpse of the cottage's past with its dark wood floor, sloped ceiling and abundance of exposed beams that show the true structure of the Old Post Office's thatch roof.

The beautiful bedroom features a 5ft iron-framed bed, matching cream bedroom furniture that nicely blends in with the room's d├ęcor and two pretty cottage windows, which enjoy views of the secret garden and country road.

A useful window seat is an added bonus in the Master Bedroom, along with a TV including integrated DVD player and a DAB radio.

DOUBLE BEDROOM

DOUBLE BEDROOM

A chunky wood-framed double bed stands at the heart of the double bedroom, which overlooks the front of the cottage. The large double bedroom is tastefully decorated with cream walls acting in complete harmony with the dark exposed wood beams, elm floor boards and petite fireplace.

The bedroom has a lovely low cottage window with a large sill where seasonal flowers can be placed, and a good range of furniture, including a small wardrobe with a set of drawers, an elegant dressing table and two bedside tables.

TWIN BEDROOM

TWIN BEDROOM

The pretty twin bedroom is beautifully decorated with whitewashed walls perfectly complementing the glossed wood floor. The light and airy room features some of the cottage's wonderful sloped and uneven walls, as well as exposed beams and cute country windows that overlook the garden and terrace.

Two full sized single beds are lovely and comfy and are separated by a bedside table, which matches a small wardrobe and chest of drawers.

GARDEN

GARDEN

The Old Post Office has a large garden ideal for sunbathing, playing games or dining alfresco. The main garden located to the side of the cottage is mainly laid to lawn with a traditional stone wall and flower borders around the edge. A round wooden table and chairs is situated in this garden along with a wrought iron sun lounger.

To the other side of the cottage is its secret walled garden, which is normally locked but a key is available. This magical garden has a small raised lawn with table and chairs and a small stream trickling down over rocks towards a pond. The secret garden is a haven for wildlife with plenty of birds regularly paying a visit. Due to the nature of this garden it is unsafe for young children to play here unsupervised.

Accessed via the kitchen is a lovely paved courtyard terrace, where you can enjoy a leisurely early morning coffee or elegant evening meal. A round iron table and chairs is provided along with a parasol.

Please note that due to insurance regulations regarding the thatch, BBQ's are not permitted at the Old Post Office.
